Ten Ways to Pray for My Husband

Ten Ways to Pray for My Husband:
1.       For his relationship with God
-          “[That he would] grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18
-          “Keep [his] heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23
2.     That God would bless him when he obeys Him
-          “The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” Proverbs 15:33
-          “Not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.” Eph. 6:6
3.     For him as the spiritual leader
-          “But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 11:3
-          “For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.” Ephesians 5:23
4.     That he would love me deeply
-          “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.” Ephesians 5:25-29
-          “Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7
5.     That he would have a heart for his children
-          “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4
-           You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 6:7
6.     That he would make wise choices
-          “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
7.      For his emotional, mental, and physical health
-          “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
-          “I appeal to you therefore, brothers,[a] by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
8.    That he would prosper at work
-           “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
-          “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” Proverbs 22:29
9.    That God would empower him to resist sexual temptation
-          Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
-          “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28
   10. That I would show him respect, grace, and kindness
-          “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” Proverbs 31:11-12

-          “Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.” 1 Peter 3:1-2
